eCHO news in your bi-weekly wrap up of all things eBPF and Cilium. If you want to keep up on the latest in cloud native networking, observability, and security this is your quelle

13th December 2022

This is the last eCHO News for 2022 and the next one will be on January 10th 2023. With that out of the way, I'm going to take a minute to look back on 2022. I started the newsletter in February not knowing exactly what to expect having not written a newsletter before. It has been an amazing way to dive head first into the Cilium and eBPF communities this year and I've learned so much curating the news.

Looking forward to next year, my prediction (which will expanded upon in the forthcoming Cilium Annual Report) are:

1) Cilium Service Mesh in Production (I know at least one person doing it already)

2) A growing ecosystem around Cilium

3) Tetragon being used to secure the software supply chain

Find out if any, all, or none of these predictions come true by reading eCHO News next year. Until then, enjoy the holidays!

The Tweet of the Week

Tweet: I took part of a @ciliumproject workshop today and I am really impressed with the product they put together. I dare to say they have done to eBPF what Docker has done to Linux namespaces.

As always, if you’ve seen a blog post, a tool, or anything else eBPF or Cilium related that you think the rest of the community should hear about, send them my way. You can either hit reply or join the #echo-news channel on Cilium Slack. You can also find all of the past episodes on the website.
